Lynsay McFarlane-Shaw [Occupational Therapist]

Lynsay is a Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) registered Occupational Therapist. She has over 20 years experience working in the field of paediatrics in healthcare and educational settings, both in the NHS and independent practice. Lynsay has completed post graduate training in functional skills assessments, using both cognitive and sensory based approaches.

She works with children and young people with a range of needs from mild to complex disabilities and educational needs. She works in pre-school settings, mainstream, special school and further educational settings.

Lynsay is highly specialist in working with children and young people with a range of occupational needs which may affect their ability to access and participate in education, play, leisure or self-care activities. The focus of therapy is on occupational participation and performance. She is child focused and goals and intervention are occupational based, helping each child achieve their potential in collaboration with the family and educational setting. Lynsay is a member of the Royal College of Occupational Therapists Children, Young People and families special interest group and the Sensory Integration Network.
